Spend less than one hour to turn leftover yarn into a funny bunny egg cozy!
any DK yarn (ca. 12m)
a set of 4 (or 5) 3mm sock needles
2 safety pins/stitch holders
a tapestry needle
optional: toy eyes and nose
- CO – cast on
- sts – stitches
- k – knit
- p – purl
- sl – slip
- rnd – round
INSTRUCTIONS (scroll down for text version)
With a single needle, CO 32, join.
R1-2: *k2, p2*, rep. around.
R3-13: k all.
R14: k5, sl 6 onto a safety pin, k10, sl 6 onto a safety pin, k5. While knitting, pull the thread so that no gaps are left between the knitted sts.
Cut thread leaving a 15cm tail. Pull the tail through the 20 sts on the needles and tighten up.
Bunny ear (make 2)
Pick up the 6 sts from one safety pin onto one needle. Knit 8 rounds (or more) of i-cord, cut thread leaving a 15cm tail. Pull the tail through the 6 sts on the needle and tighten up.
Weave in all yarn tails.
Embroider, glue or paint the funniest bunny face you can think of!
